The ECI group of companies (Engineers Construction, AC Paving, ECI Rail Constructors, and ECI Directional Drilling) provides heavy construction services throughout Vermont and New England. We currently have about 170 employees and an extensive fleet of vehicles, heavy trucks, and heavy equipment. Our clients include other contractors, developers, universities, railroads, utility companies, local industries and businesses, and municipal, state, and federal governments. We place a high emphasis on safety, quality, and professional service.

We are seeking an accounting controller with a minimum of 10 years experience, preferably with a construction company. Education should include a bachelor s degree in accounting, or equivalent. CPA accreditation is a plus. Technical skills should include a practical knowledge of accounting operations, corporate taxes, multi-state tax issues, human resources, AIA payment forms, pension and 401(k) plans, bonding, and insurance. Duties will include:

* Preparing and analyzing monthly financial statements
* Overseeing all accounting functions including A/P, A/R, job costing and in-house payroll
* Human Resource functions including employee benefits, maintaining employee handbook, and maintaining employee files
* Working with company CPA in preparing all information necessary for annual auditing of financial statements
* Overseeing 401(K) Profit Sharing plan, processing disbursements, facilitating audits, working closely with third party administrator to provide data and adhere to guidelines
* Preparing and filing all monthly sales tax returns, quarterly and annual payroll tax returns, quarterly and annual vehicle tax returns and other required filings

Rate of Pay: Salaried Position Commensurate with Qualifications.
