Advancement Communications & Stewardship Specialist

Job Description:

Champlain College seeks an entry-level professional to write, edit, and proof creative materials that help support the College s fundraising efforts, specifically within social media. Under the supervision of the Director of Major and Annual Fund Giving, support the day-to-day fundraising efforts; establish and implement a Social Media strategy to support fundraising; and coordinate and remain current on all social media platforms.

Establish and maintain cooperative relationships with representatives from all college volunteer groups as well as local community groups; create ideas and stories from current college news to better engage donors; support communication projects; work closely with the College s marketing department to publicize College programs and events; and propose new tools, methods or modes of communication, as necessary. Must be available to assist with events and, as directed, serve as a College representative at events.

Requirements:

The successful candidate will have a bachelor s degree and a minimum of one year experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience). Excellent communication (written and verbal) skills, project management, and general office administration knowledge is required. It is necessary to have strong knowledge of utilizing digital media. Experience with Microsoft Suite, Publisher, and Adobe in-design is preferred. The finalist will have access to sensitive materials, therefore must have a high degree of confidentiality. Preference will be given to individuals with previous experience in fundraising, digital media, graphic design, communications, alumni relations, marketing and/or sales. Must have the ability to work a flexible schedule, including evening hours.
