The University of Vermont's Department of Surgery and its academic medical center, Fletcher Allen Health Care, has an outstanding opportunity for a board certified or board eligible ophthalmologist. This individual must have completed a board approved 3 or 4 year ophthalmology residency and clinical Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Fellowship Program and be eligible for medical licensure in the state of Vermont. This position offers: highly competitive income guarantee, incentives, and comprehensive benefits package with academic rank at the Assistant or Associate Professor Level, commensurate with qualifications and experience. This is a full-time 12-month, salaried, non-tenure track appointment.
Duties will include providing clinical care to ophthalmology patients, teaching the principles of ophthalmology to medical students and undergraduate students in Allied Health programs, providing teaching experience for residents in training, developing basic and/or clinical research, and performing additional departmental and/or sectional administrative duties as assigned by the Chair of the Department of Surgery and/or the Chief of the Division of Ophthalmology.
