The Department of Nursing at the University of Vermont is seeking a dynamic and committed tenure track faculty member in the Adult Nurse Practitioner concentration. This 9 month position begins in August 2012, with an appointment at the rank of assistant or associate professor depending on qualifications. Salary will be commensurate with the successful candidate's qualifications.

The ideal candidates will have a PhD in nursing or a related field; doctoral candidates and DNPs with substantial research success will be considered. Clinical excellence, eligibility for Vermont licensure, and a demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusion are essential. Primary responsibilities of the position include research and scholarship, grantsmanship, teaching in area of expertise, student advising, and service to the University. We also seek evidence of ability to work independently and cooperatively within and across departments. A history of extramural funding is highly desirable. Research foci of the department include: social behavioral factors related to health; workforce development; health care quality; and ethical dimensions of health and health care. The Department of Nursing is committed to becoming a leader in developing a diverse faculty and student body to serve the professional, educational and local communities.

The successful candidate will join a Department of Nursing of 23 full time and more than 50 part time clinical faculty, 338 undergraduate students, and 90 graduate students. The department is a key element of a vibrant interdisciplinary College that is home to 1,055 students in eight different health professions with seven undergraduate and three graduate degree programs.
