Summary:
The Network Architect is responsible for the engineering, operation, and maintenance of enterprise -wide network and/or security infrastructure including analysis and support for routers, switches, firewalls, VPN concentrators, load balancers, intrusion detection systems, and event correlation systems. This role encompasses the continuum of participating in setting specific customer strategies and executing the defined strategies. Qualified candidates will possess multiple years of experience in the communications and/or network industry in a sales-oriented, technical design and engineering role, with an emphasis on IP-based network, communications and video solutions. The position will serve as a liaison with vendors and other third party providers.

Job Responsibilities:
Performs complex design, engineering, implementation, maintenance, and upgrade of the local area networks (LAN)s and/or wide area network (WAN), and/or security infrastructure.
Acts as primary organizational interface with vendors.
Maintains thorough knowledge of existing network and/or security hardware and software in use to provide third-tier technical and administrative support.
Provides complex internal analysis and support of the network and/or security infrastructure.
Periodically reviews technical documentation of environments supported to ensure that documentation is accurate and up-to-date.
Creates and revises network and/or security documentation
Provides reporting on network, security, and video metrics as needed
Proactively anticipates networking and/or security needs for planning and budgeting
Reviews network and/or security service/maintenance arrangements.
Remains informed of new technologies and trends; evaluates and makes technology recommendations to customer.
Develops business continuity and disaster recovery plans, and maintains current knowledge of plans.
Responds to critical network outages in accordance with business continuity and disaster recovery plans.
Translating customer business issues/opportunities into technical solution/business requirements

Requirements:
In-depth knowledge of Cisco hardware, IOS and NX-OS
Knowledge of Cisco (ACE, CSS, GSS) and F5 (LTM, GTM) Application Load Balancing
Demonstrated and verifiable track record of prior successful customer engagements. Examples of network designs, statements of work and/or technical project plans are required.
Experience in building scalable internetworks, building multilayer switched networks, and designing network service architecture using technologies from Cisco and/or Juniper.
Expert knowledge of L2/L3 network design and protocols
Expert knowledge of the Security-in-Depth network design concepts
Extensive knowledge base of typical networking infrastructure devices and other protocols in a large Enterprise environment
Proficient in utilizing scripting languages to automate job functions
Proficient in the design and operation of DNS, AD, and the PTP Systems
Strong experience in creating, performing, and documenting technology evaluations
Skill set to create detailed technical and business documentation
Expert at troubleshooting complex networking issues
Proficient in use of Enterprise tools including but not limited to, NetCool, Remedy, Cisco LMS, NetQOS.
Bachelor s degree in Engineering or Computer Science (or equivalent work experience); an advanced degree and/or advanced industry certifications are a plus. Requires at least 7 years of network engineering experience.

Certifications: CCNA, At least one Certification; Cisco Certified Design Associate/ Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCDA/CCNA), Cisco Certified Network Professional/ Cisco Certified Design Professional (CCNP/CCDP), Cisco Certified Voice Professional (CCVP)
