PBM Vermont, located in Milton just 30 minutes from Burlington, Vermont, is a division of the Perrigo Company. This facility spray dries powdered infant formula for the private-label market. We are currently looking for an experienced Packaging Manager to manage packaging operations within the infant formula facility, including overall packaging output/metrics, headcount management, packaging planning and implementation of continuous improvement initiatives.

Major Duties / Responsibilities:

* Manages all operations of the assigned packaging facility; ensures that all operations comply with current Good Manufacturing Procedures, reviews and approves Standard Operating Procedures for all plant operations, and monitors training and enforcement to ensure SOPs are followed
* Develops staffing and cost proposals for the fiscal year, and monitors costs and productivity throughout the year to ensure production goals are met
* Monitors production schedules and adjusts staffing to meet these schedules
* Provides leadership to safety efforts within the plant, monitoring safety performance and ensuring Supervisors provide appropriate training and direction to provide a safe working environment
* Monitors all training and provides development opportunities to plant staff and Supervisors
* Ensures compliance with company policies and rules of conduct and addresses performance issues appropriately
* Incumbent provides leadership in process improvement, working with engineers, supervisors and other packaging/production support staff to improve procedures and/or evaluate equipment

Required Skills

* Effective communication skills, including demonstrated leadership ability and well developed oral and written communication skills.
* Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment, and lead a multi-shift operation.
* Excellent analytical skills and the ability to understand and interpret operating data such as packaging metrics (output), budget, safety, and quality (GMPs).
* Ability to develop systems to support continuous improvement initiatives that support packaging, quality, and safety.

Required Experience

* Bachelor s Degree in Engineering, Business or other closely aligned field.
* Five plus years of operations experience.
* Experience with managing operations employees at various levels.
* Management experience in a cGMP environment or closely related field strongly preferred.
