Cloud Application Engineer

In this role you will be a technical consultant to internal Nokia teams to understand their service architecture and advise best uses on how to optimize their solutions for the cloud. Where there is common software (tools, services, etc) which can be developed to assist teams, you will design, develop, test, and support this software. The unique individual in this role will have to wear many hats: service architect, performance analyst, tools developer, technology evangelist, security consultant, etc.

Our ideal candidate has broad and deep technical knowledge of cloud infrastructure, and specifically, Amazon Web Services (AWS).

You should have experience working with core AWS services -- EC2, S3, ELB, AutoScaling, etc -- as well as familiarity with new offerings focused on security and identity management (VPC and IAM). We are looking for someone who is passionate about cloud computing and helping to drive rapid adoption across Nokia. You must be comfortable delivering high quality technical expertise, solutions, and materials in a fast paced, global environment with shifting priorities. The ability to communicate (written and verbal) and positively connect with teams will be vital to the success of this role.

Qualifications

5-7+ years of industry experience in CS or equiv, 1+ years with cloud computing

*
BS or MS in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related field of study

*
Working knowledge of AWS required

*
Experience with authentication and cyrptography technologies a plus

*
Experience with network protocols and scalable storage solutions

*
Software development experience in Java, Python, C++, and in-depth knowledge of Linux/Unix tools and architecture

*
Strong written and verbal communication skills
