Job Summary/Basic Function: Provide technical and management expertise in the design, commissioning, troubleshooting, and development of multi-layered maintenance protocols for technologically sophisticated laboratories, including those used in bio-medical and cosmogenic research. Oversee, create, support and encourage environmentally sound facility practices. Requires active engagement in learning and practicing principles of social justice and inclusion, environmental sustainability and delivering great customer experience. Reports to the Assistant Director of Physical Plant for Maintenance Operations.
Minimum Qualifications:
(or equivalent combination of education and experience) Bachelor's Degree in Engineering with five years of experience with facility related operations in a laboratory environment. Demonstrated ability to guide engineering/maintenance and operation activities. Knowledge of project management, quality assurance, and environmental, safety and health policies and procedures. Thorough engineering knowledge of technical and regulatory requirements for a laboratory operation which includes experience in building HVAC, automation and laboratory controls. Familiar with applicable codes and regulations pertaining to these types of facilities such as ANSI Z9.5 and NIH. Must have computer skills and be familiar with Building Automation Systems. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to demonstrate an ongoing commitment to workplace diversity, sustainability and delivering exceptional value and great experience to customers.
Desirable Qualifications: Certified Industrial Hygienist designations desirable. HVAC Temperature Control and/or installation experience desired.
